Alpha Trains to acquire 15 more Vectrons
Leasing company Alpha Trains has ordered 15 additional Vectron locomotives as part of a framework agreement signed with manufacturer Siemens in November 2021.
With this latest order, Alpha Trains will have more than 65 Vectron locomotives at its disposal and increase the total number of its fleet to 463 locomotives from a wide range of manufacturers, series and homologations for 21 European countries.
The Vectron MS locomotives have a maximum power of 6.4 megawatts and a top speed of 200 km/h. They will be manufactured at the Siemens Mobility plant in Germany in Munich-Allach. (ben)
