Aircraft lessor demands more freighter capacity
Miami-based Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has been awarded a contract to provide Aero Capital Solutions with ten additional B737-800SF freighter conversions.
This news follows an AEI announcement in October 2020 providing its client, a major mid-life lessor from Texas, with four B737-800SF. Once this order is fulfilled, the company will have converted a total of fourteen B737-800 aircraft through the AEI programme.
The first additional B737-800 will commence modification at Haeco Xiamen in June 2021. The second aircraft will also be converted in China, commencing modification at Staeco from Jinan one month later.
The eight remaining aircraft modifications will alternate between the two production lines, with the final aircraft commencing modification in September 2022. (ah)
