Afrijet takes over converted ATR freighter from Aelis
Bratislava (Slovakia)-based Aelis Group has arranged the delivery of an ATR72-500 freighter to fly in cargo configuration for Afrijet, an airline operating since 2004 in and around Gabon.
Aelis organised the complete transaction, from the purchase of the passenger aircraft, formerly operating for Canary Fly, its conversion into a freighter, the placement with an operating lessor and the delivery for cargo operations, the first for Afrijet.
Aelis CEO Philippe Lienard: "It is a 'Covid-19 deal', where every action gets more complicated by home office, limitation to travels, and multiple additional burdens. Thank you to all of the actors of this transaction, hard work leads to success."
