Advantages of a regional airport
To kick off the new year, Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport (PAD) is implementing another major cargo project. After the aid delivery of medical protective equipment to Namibia in July last year, Emotive Systems, based in Paderborn, now had three wide-bodied freighters of the Turkish carrier MNG Airlines flown into Westphalia carrying pandemic-related products.
According to the two managing directors of Emotive Systems, Nikita Dohrenkamp and Stephan Gehle, the choice of PAD was deliberate: "We want to support our airport with this initiative and raise awareness of the possibility to transport freight from the domestic airport. We also aim to benefit from local advantages in view of the currently tense situation at many other airports." (ah)
