Accelleron: good FY/2022 and plans for the future
Accelleron is looking back on a positive first financial year as an independent company: the Swiss supplier of turbochargers for heavy-duty applications, which was spun off from ABB, ended 2022 with sales of USD 780.5 million and grew by 3.2%.
Despite the difficult inflationary environment, ebidta increased by 2.2% to USD 191.8 million. This allows Accelleron to innovate, an approach that lies at the heart of the company: indeed, 6% to 7% of sales are invested in research and development.
One of Accelleron's long-term plans is to drive decarbonisation and grow faster than its competitors: in 2022, the company already registered a growing demand for shipping and energy products and services in relevant regions. Accelleron is currently conducting tests with biodiesel and hydrogen in turbocharging as well as fuel cells. (lh)
