A Welcome for three dollars
Elcome International has introduced ‘Welcome’, a new pay-as-you-go satellite internet service for ships and offshore installations worldwide, powered by Starlink. It offers high-speed, low-latency internet access without fixed monthly fees.
Available in international waters and the territorial waters of 70 countries, Welcome provides up to 350 Mbps bandwidth and an average latency below 99 ms. Crew members can purchase data bundles or monthly subscriptions starting at USD 3, using various payment methods.
Elcome will allso offer a free Starlink flat high-performance kit for qualifying customers, enabling crews to access Welcome without upfront investment or fixed monthly costs. The service aims to address the growing need for affordable high-speed internet connectivity for crew welfare.
Additionally, crews can enjoy roaming benefits, allowing them to use purchased data on different Welcome-equipped vessels. Elcome plans to partner with content and service providers to enhance the portfolio. The service is scheduled to launch officially in May 2024. (pb)
