A third air cargo centre at Liège airport

Swissport International continues to grow at Liège airport, Belgium, one of Europe’s major gateways for international air cargo.

The company’s third cargo centre, a custom bonded warehouse, was built in response to an increased demand for e-commerce and forwarder handling services. It opened a week ago, on 22 April, and adds 4,000 sqm, or 17%, of capacity, bringing the total surface space up to 27,000 sqm.

The expansion makes Swissport the largest air cargo handler at Liège airport. Aligned with the company’s global cargo strategy, its product portfolio now includes forwarder handling, e-commerce processing and sorting, import trucking, and specialised build-up/break-down operations for brokers, airlines, and other services.
