A pilot to streamline container releases

Hapag-Lloyd, Kuehne + Nagel, and Flowfox have initiated a pilot project to automate import container release processes, initially launching in France and Germany. This project aims to streamline and reduce errors in the typically manual release process, which will enhance efficiency and transparency.

By leveraging Flowfox's drop-off change product, the initiative seeks to optimise the empty return processes of containers and so deliver direct value to customers. The pilot will undergo three months of closed testing to ensure robustness before a broader rollout.

This endeavour aligns with Hapag-Lloyd's and Kuehne + Nagel's commitment to improving logistics operations and customer service, with the ultimate goal of establishing a global standard for import processes. (pb)
