A new Mexico–Florida shuttle

ZIM is launching a new Mexico–Tampa shuttle service (MTS9) to commence in mid-December, expanding the company's regional network and providing more options for customers in Mexico and the USA.

The MTS9 will deploy a 1,000-teu vessel on a weekly, fixed-day schedule between the port of Altamira (Mexico) and Tampa Fl (USA). Ships will depart Altamira on Fridays and call at Tampa on Mondays.

In addition to three-day transit times, the new MTS offers guaranteed space allocation and container availability (dry, reefer and special equipment), extended cut-off dates and a quick IMO Cargo approval process at the ATP terminal in Altamira, door-to-door and end-to-end inland services, a fully dedicated ZIM-operated vessel, reliable organisations and follow-up in Mexico and the USA as well as advanced, easy-to-use digital tools.

Yoram Dallman, ZIM's vice-president for Latin America business, said that “the MTS service is a valuable addition to our growing regional network, strengthening our position as the fastest-growing ocean carrier in the Mexican market. MTS will enable ZIM customers to benefit from a fast, reliable connection and top-level customer services.”

ZIM has provided creative operational and logistical solutions since 1945. Over the years, it has become a major player in the shipping industry by pioneering innovative technologies and expanding its geographical network. (cd)
