A microgrid to supercharge trucks
Paccar Parts Europe has successfully implemented an on-site power supply system at Daf Dealer Best Trucks in Barendrecht (Netherlands).
This so-called ‘microgrid’ consists of a combination of 750 roof mounted solar panels, an energy storage system and advanced energy control systems. It ensures a consistent and sustainable energy supply while also facilitating rapid charging, remaining operational even in unfavourable weather conditions.
The microgrid can supercharge trucks leaving the workshop and also powers a public superfast charger. Two chargers were installed in the workshop, which can power up electric trucks in an hour. A third fast charging point is open to the public. (ben)
