A memorable 2021

Bremen-based logistics company Röhlig Logistics has reported its unaudited results for 2021. The privately-owned company generated a gross profit of EUR 213 million, compared to EUR 140.4 million in 2020 (+34%). This result was particularly due to the positive development of the core markets USA, Germany, Australia, China and South Africa.

New offices recently opened their doors in Hyderabad and Vizag in India, in Berlin and in Dubai. Due to the lack of transport capacity, Röhlig's gross profit in sea freight rose by 64%, especially driven by strong LCL business. Air freight also surged by 39%.

Hylton Gray, CEO sea freight, air freight, contract logistics & sales, said that "together with Penske Logistics, we established Röhlig Penske Logistics as a contract logistics joint venture with locations in Germany and the Netherlands. The expansion of warehouse space in Malaysia and China, which began in 2021, will continue in 2022.”

Philip W. Herwig, managing partner at Röhlig Logistics, spoke of a growth in "ebit from EUR 11.8 million to EUR 61 million." (sh)
