A dozen new rail vehicles
German rail vehicle lessor Northrail has ordered the last twelve locomotives from the framework purchase agreement with the manufacturer Siemens.
The contract covers a total of 30 Vectron Dual Mode locomotives, which have a combined diesel and electric drive. Northrail has already received eight of them.
The next two deliveries will take place in autumn 2022. Sixteen more locomotives are scheduled for delivery in 2023 and the last four will follow at the beginning of 2024.
The companies have already signed fixed rental contracts for thirteen Vectron Dual Mode locomotives. The dual drive of the Vectron Dual Mode locomotives helps to reduce carbon emissions. (ben)
