A bridgehead in Hamburg

Xstaff, a company formed in 2016 by the firms Coop Schweiz and the Belgian Colruyt Group, will open a new location in Hamburg on 1 January 2023. The international purchasing network of over 50 service providers in Europe and Asia represents the interests of its clients by bundling the contractually guaranteed transport volumes of the network and negotiates with shipping companies to support the organisation of their supply chains.

The new location in Hamburg will be managed by Antonios Rigalos, a member of the executive board and the chief growth officer of Xstaff. In addition, parts of the procurement and operations unit will be supported from there too.

Bodo Knop, Xstaff's chairman of the board, said that “the move became necessary primarily due to Xstaff's continuous growth. As early as 2021, more than 100,000 teu of cargo was moved through the company's own network.”

The organisation operates three joint ventures in Hong Kong and Barcelona, namely Cross Staff Asia Pacific, Cross X Staff Logistics Procurement Consultant Iberia and Uni-Staff Logistics (HK). Xstaff also has a site in Katowice (Poland). (sh)
