45 Modulas for shunting and freight transport
Railpool is expanding its fleet for the German market. The leasing company has signed several contracts with Vossloh for the delivery of 45 Modula locomotives in two versions with the option to purchase a further 142.
With the Modula, the Munich-(Germany)-based carrier will offer traction solutions for both heavy shunting work and freight transport. Both types can run on synthetic fuels and therefore meet the highest environmental standards, the company said.
Deliveries of the Modula locomotives are to begin in mid-2026 and run until the end of 2027. The optional call-off locomotive orders will be filled by mid-2029, and both locomotive versions will also be available for use with permits for both Germany and the Netherlands. (ben)
