30 million t logistics package finalised
In Austria the Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has signed a new logistics agreement with the firms Voestalpine Rohstoffbeschaffung and Logistik Service. The contract guarantees the sustainable transport by rail of around 10 million t of raw materials and finished products per year for a further three years.
The cooperation agreement covers the transport of raw materials such as iron ore, HBI, coke, coal and scrap, as well as steel products such as coils, heavy plates and sheets.
The partnership underlines the importance of efficient and secure supply chains for the sites in Linz and Leoben-Donawitz (Austria), RCG said. The logistics package also focuses on CO2 reductions. (ben)
