24plus boss Peter Baumann to retire

Peter Baumann is retiring at the end of April 2020 after a 22-year stint as managing director of 24plus. He shouldered the task of leading the general cargo alliance in 1998. In May 2019, Baumann and his successor Stefan Rehmet began to jointly managed 24plus. Uwe Müller, spokesman for the entity’s supervisory board, declared: "24plus is a strong and efficient general cargo cooperation thanks to Baumann. He was both a pragmatist and a visionary leader. The network partners are infinitely grateful."

Retiree Baumann: "There has been an immense concentration process in the general cargo industry for years. It is becoming increasingly difficult for general cargo networks to replace partners that leave with suitable successors. General cargo forwarding agencies and general cargo networks are under great pressure to change. 24plus has proven to be a strong general cargo network in this situation. I wish my successor all the best when fulfilling his duties." (mw)
