2023: a solid year for AEI

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) delivered twenty-eight freighter conversions to leasing and operator customers world-wide in 2023: eighteen B737-800SF freighters, followed by five B737-400SF freighters, two MD-80SF series freighters, and three CRJ200 SF freighters.

As a major milestone, AEI celebrated the company’s 600th overall freighter conversion delivery in August. The B737-800SF will again top the list of deliveries in 2024, but AEI expects the total amount to be slightly below 2023 levels.

The company has stated that it will use this predicted slowdown as an opportunity to complete its studies on a potential introduction of new AEI freighter programmes for the 737-900 and the CRJ 900. (cj)
