150 Volvo FH Aeros
Maritime Transport has ordered 150 new Volvo FH Aero with I-Save 6x2 tractor units, the largest FH Aero order in the UK to-date. The first 20 vehicles are already operational at the haulier’s 41 sites in the UK, including eight strategic railfreight terminals.
The new vehicles join a fleet that already contains 525 Volvo trucks. The FH Aero reduces energy consumption and emissions by up to 5% through a new design and technology, Volvo said.
The tractor with Euro 6-compliant D13TC step E engines will be used within Maritime’s intermodal and distribution divisions, operating 24/7 and expected to cover 160,000 km annually.
