15 locos for Italy, Norway and Sweden
Manufacturer Alstom has won an order from leasing company Railpool for 15 Traxx locomotives, with the option for a further five vehicles. The locomotives are intended for use in Norway, Sweden and Italy.
Traxx 3 is the most modern four-axle platform for locomotives in Europe, Railpool said. The Traxx AC3, Traxx MS3 and Traxx DC3 models feature a supporting diesel engine for bridging non-electrified line sections with the optional last mile function. The locomotives of the Traxx series are are the most successful platform in Europe with more than 2,400 vehicles sold. (ben)
