12,000 km through six countries
The first China-Europe freight train from North China's Shanxi province to Spain arrived at the Abronigal railfreight station in Madrid on Monday, 16 October 2023.
The maiden train left the Zhongding Logistics Park on 16 September and travelled 12,000 km through six countries, namely Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, and France. Its cargo included canned products, machinery components, and train wheels.
The Shanxi-based logistics group Huayuan International Land Port has been promoting the expansion of freight train connections to Europe in the province in recent years and has developed 15 regular international routes starting from six logistics parks in Shanxi. (ben)
