1,000 e-trucks for cement giants
The Swiss building materials producer Holcim plans to use most of the ordered 1,000 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600s for transporting materials such as cement in silo trailers. The volume represents the largest single order for the eActros 600 to date, Daimler said.
With a battery capacity of more than 600 kilowatt hours and an efficient electric drive axle, the eActros 600 will be able to travel significantly more than 1,000 km per day.
By electrifying its fleet, Holcim can accelerate its plans to ensure that 30% of all heavy-duty truck purchases or contracts are emission-free by 2030. (ben)
