100 new rail cars open up new market segment
Kombiverkehr transferred a total of 884,168 consignments or 1.77 million teu to the railways in 2019. The company thus transported 5.7% fewer containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers than in the previous year.
While traffic volumes within Germany and total throughput on the international level declined, the sub-markets Denmark, Hungary and Sweden reported growth rates of up to 11%. The Spanish trade also increased by more than 7%, despite many more strikes in France.
In 2020, Kombiverkehr plans to enter the tank container market with 100 new 52-foot container flat wagons each weighing up to 60 t. (ben)
