J.S. Logistics and MAN launch electromobility in Europe
Jul 3, 2026 at 1:50 PMHannibal has announced a new rail connection between the inland terminal Melzo in Italy and the Europoort Rotterdam in the Netherlands. According to a company statement, this connection is expected to expand logistical capabilities in Northern Europe.
The new link between Melzo, the Rail Hub Milano, and the Europoort Rotterdam Terminal is regarded by the company as a significant step towards integration into European logistics corridors. Europoort Rotterdam is considered one of the central hubs for international supply chains and offers an integrated platform for rail and shipping connections. The combination of various transport options, including short-sea and deep-sea connections, underscores this.
Expansion of operational coverage
With the introduction of this new connection, Hannibal claims to have completed its operational coverage in the Port of Rotterdam. The parent company Contships is now active in all major facilities of the port, including Moerdijk, RSC, Botlek, and Europoort. This presence enables the corporate group to operate as a consolidation and distribution point for traffic to the Benelux countries, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other key markets in Northern Europe.
