Jul 2, 2026 at 12:43 PMCargolux Airlines International S.A. confirmed on July 1, 2026, a court ruling from the Luxembourg court that ratifies an agreement in the criminal proceedings between the company and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Luxembourg. The case involves allegations of influence peddling related to activities in Gabon between 2010 and 2015. This concerns solely the legal entity Cargolux, not individuals.
The investigation was initiated after Cargolux voluntarily provided information to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg at the end of 2015. The company has cooperated with the authorities throughout the proceedings. According to the ruling, Cargolux must pay a total fine of approximately EUR 1.15 million, consisting of a monetary penalty and a confiscation.
Measures to Strengthen Compliance
Since the self-disclosure, Cargolux has continuously taken measures to improve internal control mechanisms as well as compliance systems and governance practices. These developments were acknowledged as part of the Plea Agreement and demonstrate the importance of voluntary disclosures and cooperation with judicial authorities.
