Jun 12, 2026 at 2:38 PMA.P. Moller – Maersk has launched a new initiative at the Lin-gang Flagship Logistics Centre in Shanghai, which includes the use of electric heavy-duty container trucks. This measure was introduced as part of the company’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and aims to improve the connection between the logistics center and the Shanghai Yangshan Port.
The Lin-gang center, officially opened in November 2025, plays a central role in supporting national and international trade flows. The newly introduced electric trucks will be used for both import and export operations and are expected to enhance the efficiency of logistics processes.
Integration into the logistics network
According to Maersk, the use of electric trucks will further improve the connectivity between warehousing, inland transportation, and maritime services within the company’s integrated logistics network. This initiative is part of a broader plan to reduce the environmental impact of the logistics industry while simultaneously increasing operational efficiency.
The introduction of electric trucks is a step towards more environmentally friendly logistics and demonstrates Maersk’s commitment to developing innovative solutions to support global trade.
