Jun 9, 2026 at 10:17 AMAfter a recently completed equity increase of $215 million, Spiro, a company in the field of electromobility in Africa, has appointed Anant Badjatya as Group Chief Executive Officer. This decision aims to strengthen the leadership team and drive the company’s pan-African expansion, as stated by the company.
Anant Badjatya brings over 20 years of experience in corporate leadership, which he has gained in various regions, including India, the Middle East, and Africa. Previously, he was the CEO of Indofast Energy, a joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility. In this role, he was involved in building one of the largest battery swapping networks in India, which, according to Spiro, includes over 1,800 stations and serves around 90,000 vehicles daily.
Badjatya’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Spiro, as the company has recently completed one of the largest funding rounds in the African electromobility sector. In his new role, Badjatya will take on a mandate that encompasses areas such as battery swapping, leasing, logistics, energy, and vehicle manufacturing.
