Jun 9, 2026 at 8:39 AMAD Ports Group begins test operations at the Noatum Ports – Safaga Terminal in Egypt: This takes place in the presence of various representatives, including Egyptian Minister of Transport Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of AD Ports Group. According to AD Ports Group, the visit to the new multipurpose terminal serves to review the processes and systems that are being prepared for the upcoming full operation of the terminal.
The Noatum Ports – Safaga Terminal will be operated under a 30-year concession agreement signed in 2023 in collaboration with the Egyptian Red Sea Ports Authority. With an area of approximately 810,000 m² and a 1,000-meter-long quay, the terminal is expected to handle up to 450,000 TEU as well as 5 million tons of dry bulk and breakbulk, 1 million tons of liquid bulk, and 50,000 CEUs of Ro-Ro cargo.
According to AD Ports Group, the terminal will function as the first internationally operated port terminal in Upper Egypt. It aims to enhance connectivity between Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and global shipping routes.
