May 21, 2026 at 10:06 AMRhenus has activated a new land corridor through Jordan to provide reliable transport solutions between Europe and the Middle East. In light of ongoing regional challenges affecting traditional logistics routes, this corridor offers a stable and efficient alternative for freight transport to the Gulf region.
The corridor connects Turkey and Europe with key destinations such as Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Dammam), Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi), Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. The aim is to maintain the continuity of supply chains in an increasingly volatile environment. The corridor utilizes a combination of road and multimodal transport to ensure greater predictability and control.
Within less than a month of its launch, Rhenus has already handled more than ten full truckloads (FTL) and transported over 190 tons of freight through the corridor. This demonstrates both the immediate demand and the operational scalability of the new offering.
Growing demand for alternative routes
Given the pressure on supply chains from changing geopolitical and operational conditions, companies are increasingly seeking flexible routing options that go beyond traditional sea freight and direct road connections. The Jordan corridor offered by Rhenus represents a structured and reliable transport solution, with transit times of 10 to 13 days from Turkey and 19 to 22 days from Europe, depending on border and operational conditions. The service supports various types of freight, including tautliners (up to 24 tons) and refrigerated transporters (up to 23 tons), allowing for adaptation to different industries and shipping requirements.
Although the solution is primarily based on road and multimodal transport, it is integrated into Rhenus’s global network, enabling customers to complement their shipments with air or sea freight services as needed.
Proven performance under time-critical conditions
The effectiveness of the corridor is illustrated by a recently completed time-critical delivery of equipment for the oil and gas industry for the client FTE, a global equipment provider, from Lyon, France, to Dubai. Rhenus completed the transport in just 18 days by combining road and ferry services via Trieste (Italy) and Mersin (Turkey) before routing the freight through Jordan to the UAE.
A cross-stuffing operation in Jordan ensured compliance with regional transport requirements and facilitated a seamless transition to a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) registered vehicle for final delivery. The shipment was completed within the required timeframe, avoiding disruptions at the client’s production site.
