May 19, 2026 at 9:10 AMTOC Europe opened its activities today on May 19 (until May 21). The industry organisation International Cargo Handling Coordination Association (ICHCA) is once again hosting the ‚Safety Village‘ during the trade fair. This event is taking place for the fifth time and is organised in collaboration with TT Club. The aim is to promote innovation and the exchange of safety issues in the port and logistics sector.
The focus will be on presentations and discussions regarding current challenges in cargo handling. More than 30 speakers from companies and organisations such as Kalmar, APM Terminals, Leea, Sick AG and the Global Shippers Forum will participate in the events. Topics will include safety risks in ports, new technical solutions and strategies for improving work and operational processes.
ICHCA CEO Richard Steele emphasised that safe working conditions are crucial for the future viability of the industry. The ‚Safety Village‘ aims to provide companies with concrete approaches for continuous improvements. The initiative is part of the year-round campaign ‚Innovation in Safety‘, which also includes the annual safety award from ICHCA and TT Club. The call for entries for the 2026 awards will start in September.
