FIATA and Otonomi Collaborate for Insurance
Apr 2, 2026 at 12:58 PMThe duisport group has established a new business area in crane technology. The newly founded duisport crane service GmbH (dcs) will operate as a 100% subsidiary of Duisburger Hafen AG, offering both internal and external services. The aim of this realignment is to consolidate central competencies in crane technology and create a market-oriented offering.
With the establishment of dcs, a team of around 25 employees will be built, which will serve both the company’s own divisions and external customers from the industry, port, and logistics sectors. Lars Nennhaus, Board Member for Technology and Operations at duisport, emphasizes the importance of the excellent crane technician team for the company’s performance and competitiveness. „We are professionalizing this service and opening it up to the market. This is another step towards becoming a full-service provider for port and logistics solutions,“ explains Nennhaus.
Integration of Existing Structures
As part of the realignment, the previous subsidiary POLO KNOW-HOW Industrie-Engineering GmbH has been renamed duisport crane service GmbH. Additionally, as of March 1, 2026, two more crane technology units will be integrated into dcs: the terminal crane technology division of duisport logistics & port services GmbH and the crane technology operation of A. Ick GmbH from Oberhausen. This integration aims to consolidate crane technology services under one roof and expand expertise in welding technology.
The new company will be led by Timo Gryzan and Andreas Ick, while Rüdiger Tornow, who was previously the managing director of POLO KNOW-HOW, will receive power of attorney. All three executives bring many years of experience in crane technology, digitalization, and operational processes and are expected to strategically develop the new business area.
With the establishment of duisport crane service GmbH, the duisport group aims to create a central platform for its crane technology services, encompassing maintenance and modernization as well as digitalization and control technology.
