American Airlines Cargo strengthens species protection
Apr 1, 2026 at 10:07 AMSix railway operators in Rotterdam have signed an agreement to improve operational cooperation on the port railway line. The companies Rail Force One, HSL Netherlands, DB Cargo Nederland, RTB Cargo, LTE, and Rail Cargo Group have joined forces under the leadership of the Port Authority of Rotterdam to establish a so-called shunting agreement. This initiative aims to increase efficiency in rail transport within the port and minimize the impact of capacity bottlenecks, as stated by the Port Authority.
Cooperation to prevent train cancellations
The shunting agreement allows the participating railway operators to take over trips from each other at fixed prices. This measure is intended to help prevent train cancellations and long delays. Another advantage of the collaboration, according to the Port Authority, is the introduction of an emergency plan that can be activated immediately in the event of deviations from the standard schedules. This is intended to ensure that trains can be taken over more quickly, allowing terminals to free up their tracks in a timely manner.
The project, named „Track Together,“ will now be launched as a seven-month pilot project. If the program is successful, a permanent continuation of the cooperation is planned.
