“INDAMEX Service” launched in Australia
Feb 12, 2026 at 8:52 AMVictoria International Container Terminal (VICT) has expanded its trade connections to America through the recently launched „Eagle Service“ by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), as the company recently announced. The first call of the new service took place in early February when the 2,556 TEU vessel „Etoile“ arrived at the Port of Melbourne.
Connections between Australia and the USA
The Eagle Service provides a direct connection between Australia and New Zealand as well as ports on the US East Coast. Ports served include Philadelphia and Savannah, among others. According to the company, the service utilizes a hub-and-spoke network operating through Panama. This includes two stops in Rodman (Panama Pacific) and another in Cristobal (Panama Atlantic). This route allows for additional connections to markets in Europe, Central and South America, as well as the US Gulf.
The Eagle Service comprises a total of 11 ships with a capacity ranging from 2,500 TEU to 4,500 TEU, operating in a weekly rotation between the ports of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Wellington, Tauranga, Rodman, Cristobal, Philadelphia, Savannah, Freeport, Rodman, Papeete, and Auckland.
