Decline in Passengers and Increase in Cargo
Jan 15, 2026 at 8:26 AMEllerman City Liners has reached an agreement to acquire Viasea Shipping from ColliCare Holding. Viasea, founded in 2016, has established itself in recent years as a player in the short-sea market, according to ColliCare. The company operates routes between the United Kingdom, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, and Lithuania, and has offices in Moss, Rotterdam, Gdynia, Klaipeda, and Immingham.
The acquisition of Viasea by Ellerman City Liners, which is part of the GB Global Group, aims to strengthen the position of both companies in European short-sea traffic. The two firms plan to collaborate to offer transport solutions that are both efficient and environmentally friendly. According to ColliCare, there will be no changes to existing services or agreements for the customers and partners of the company as a result of this acquisition.
