Nov 30, 2025 at 6:00 PMThe BLG Group welcomed the Lithuanian Minister of Economy and Innovation, Edvinas Grikšas, yesterday, accompanied by Economic Attaché Arūnas Šarka. From BLG, Matthias Magnor, Chairman of the Board of BLG LOGISTICS, Michael Blach, BLG Board Member and EUROGATE Group Managing Director, Daniel Hosseus, Executive Vice President Global Public Affairs, as well as Thomas Leiber and Karsten Dirks, both Managing Directors of BLG, participated.
(Bremen) The focus of the exchange was on the importance of port logistics in the European security context, the Lithuanian government’s investment plan, and potential cooperation opportunities in Lithuania. During a terminal tour, the delegation gained insights into the operational business, technical infrastructure, and performance of the BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven, one of the largest automobile terminals in Europe. The processes in container handling were also presented, which is a central component of port activities in Bremerhaven and is managed by the joint venture EUROGATE, in which the BLG Group is involved.
Minister Edvinas Grikšas emphasized: “Lithuania offers the most competitive investment environment in the Baltic region – supported by strong port logistics, advanced industry, and a growing innovation ecosystem. Germany is one of our most important economic partners, and we appreciate the increasing interest that German companies show in Lithuania. We are ready to work together on projects that bring mutual benefits and strengthen the competitiveness of our economies and Europe as a whole.”
Dialogue with European Partners Gains Importance
“The dialogue with our European partners is becoming increasingly important in light of geopolitical challenges. We are pleased with the strong interest of the Lithuanian delegation and the constructive exchange about the future of European port logistics. Close cooperation between business and politics is crucial to sustainably strengthen competitiveness and security in Europe,” emphasized BLG CEO Matthias Magnor. The visit took place as part of the Minister’s participation in the 25th ESA Ministerial Council Meeting (CM25) in Bremen.
