Mar 25, 2025 at 5:43 PMAnother milestone in the long-standing collaboration between Mercedes-Benz Trucks and the Rethmann Group: The 15,000th vehicle was ceremoniously handed over to the company at the Mercedes-Benz Trucks customer center in Wörth. The robust and powerful Arocs 3243 L will strengthen the fleet of Remondis and thus play an important role in waste disposal along German transport routes.
(Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Wörth am Rhein/Knetzgau) For the ceremonial key handover led by Dr. Andreas Bachhofer, Head of the Wörth site and Production Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Norbert Rethmann, Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Rethmann Group and pioneer of the circular economy, Bernhard Heiker, CFO of REMONDIS SE & Co KG, and other representatives from Daimler Truck AG, the customer Remondis, as well as the responsible contractual partners came together. The handover marks another highlight of a partnership that began in 1959 with the first Mercedes-Benz truck waste collection vehicle for Rethmann and has since been characterized by consistency and trust.
Norbert Rethmann on the occasion of the handover: “Indeed, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and our company share a long-standing and good partnership. I am confident that we will continue this partnership in the generation of my children.” The corporate group is one of the largest customers of Mercedes-Benz Trucks and is specifically focused on the further development of its vehicle fleet, continually making important decisions for the future. Since 2020/2021, Rethmann SE & Co. KG has also been operating the first electric Mercedes-Benz trucks, marking the beginning of a consistent focus on electrification. In addition to classic diesel trucks, the company is increasingly relying on alternative drive systems and is now operating both the Mercedes-Benz eEconic and the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600.
Maximum efficiency for sustainable waste disposal
The Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3243 L as a jubilee vehicle was specifically designed for demanding disposal tasks in parking lots and rest areas along German highways and federal roads and will be used for Remondis in the future. The 32-ton truck is equipped with an OM470 engine, which has a displacement of 10.7 liters and delivers 315 kW (430 hp). The Mercedes-Benz Arocs is characterized by its high robustness and versatility and is specifically designed for heavy construction and transport applications. With powerful engines and a particularly stable chassis construction, the Arocs offers excellent driving characteristics, even under extreme conditions. In addition, it impresses with its efficient fuel usage and innovative technology that enables optimal use in demanding operational environments. The powerful truck with ClassicSpace cab will be used in various regions of southern and eastern Germany as a waste collection vehicle for household waste and contributes to the efficient emptying of containers along important transport routes.
