Cooperations ELVIS and ABC Agree on Partnership
May 10, 2023 at 9:26 PMThe decade 2013 – 2023 has been an economically turbulent period for the logistics industry, characterized by globalization and growth, constantly increasing demands on fleet operators, a shortage of skilled workers, high competitive pressure, and a growing concentration in the market with a few large global players.
(Düsseldorf/Munich) “Society has increasingly realized during the pandemic that logistics is a system-relevant industry. The competitive pressure remains, if not increased, due to the accelerated digitalization. The geopolitical situation, the scarcity of raw materials, the worsening shortage of skilled workers and drivers, as well as the rising number of bankruptcies among customers continue to drive the necessity to utilize synergies through cooperation. It can still be observed that the reasons for the merger into a strong community may have shifted marginally, but they remain the same as they were 10 years ago,” said Marc Possekel, Managing Partner of LogCoop GmbH.
Global 24/7 Emergency Service
LogCoop has made it its mission to develop new networks that meet the needs of its members and their customers in order to respond flexibly to market demands. In 2016, the storage network was established, followed by the forklift network in 2017.
The newly established network “LogCoop Anytime” in January 2023 offers service solutions in the context of emergency logistics, regardless of the product, whether on a pallet, in a package, or as a full load, and wherever it needs to be transported. LogCoop Anytime is accessible via an emergency hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Speed and the proven expertise of the contacts to reliably transport even extraordinary freight to their destination are at the core of the business model. Customers receive a tailored offer within 15 minutes after sending the emergency request. The service includes direct shipments, air freight, onboard courier services (OBC), chartering an entire aircraft or helicopter with personal all-inclusive service. In addition to tracking the shipment, customs clearance, door-to-door deliveries, and packaging optimization are offered. The transport of valuable goods, refrigerated and hazardous materials while adhering to the relevant legal requirements is also possible. The service is currently offered by 10 selected LogCoop members, primarily operating internationally. At the transport logistic, Thomas Koch, Managing Director of Greenline Logistik from Stolberg, will report on initial experiences with global transports using LogCoop Anytime.

Industry-Specific Exchange in Working Groups
A key aspect of the cooperation is the exchange among members; therefore, LogCoop offers, among other things, regional member meetings and industry-specific working groups. In recent months, for example, a joint project on LCL (Less than Container Load) has emerged with the working group “Sea and Air Freight” involving the Port of Hamburg, LogCoop, and its member A.L.S Allgemeine Land- und Seespedition GmbH, as well as two other port logistics companies. In March 2023, the pilot project for cargo consolidation for sea exports successfully started.
The working group “E-Fulfillment” met virtually at the end of February in an annual kick-off meeting to establish the joint roadmap for 2023. In the future, the working group will promote interdisciplinary exchange among members through on-site visits to member companies. Various automation technologies such as AutoStore or Sorter will be viewed in live operations. IT topics, processes, packaging issues, and European parcel shipping, including current regulations for shipping to Great Britain, are also on the agenda.
LogCoop is interested in continuing to promote the exchange among members in industry-related or regional working groups to collaboratively develop practical and solution-oriented approaches and, ideally, concrete projects.
Comprehensive Training Offer for Members
In addition to individual storage and transport solutions for various industries, there is now also an extensive training offer from the LogCoop Academy, which was founded at the end of 2022. In cooperation with the partner Lobraco Academy, it offers LogCoop member companies training and further education seminars tailored precisely to the needs of the transport and logistics industry to qualify and expand the necessary competencies. The academy aims to enable companies to further qualify existing employees and promote their career development within the company, as well as to attract new employees to ensure sustainable business success.
