TX Logistik connects Jade-Weser-Port with Southern Germany

TX Logistik AG has successfully launched its new hinterland connections between Wilhelmshaven and Southern Germany. Since mid-January, the rail logistics company, which is part of Mercitalia Logistics, has been operating one round trip per week between Jade-Weser-Port and the rail terminals in Nuremberg and Kornwestheim.

(Troisdorf) Both routes are operated as direct connections and are offered through the production platform boxXpress. The destination in Nuremberg is the Tricon Container Terminal, and in Kornwestheim, it is the Duss Kombiterminal, which serves as a hub for the Stuttgart/Ludwigsburg area.

With the new connections, TX Logistik not only provides its customers with additional capacities for container transport by rail. The integration of Jade-Weser-Port Wilhelmshaven into the network is also an important step for TX to benefit from the projected further volume growth at Jade-Weser-Port. As Germany’s only deep-water port, Wilhelmshaven is increasingly becoming the destination for larger container ships and is already regularly served by eight shipping companies.

In light of this development, TX plans to launch additional routes between Wilhelmshaven and terminals in the hinterland by the end of the first half of the year.
