Apr 1, 2022 at 5:56 PMThe LIS Logistische Informationssysteme AG (LIS) is expanding its product range and launching new software: the LIS Warehouse Management (LWM). This cloud-based Warehouse Management System (WMS) is tailored specifically for European providers of Third Party Logistics (3PL) and organizes the internal material flow of their warehouses and distribution centers, regardless of their industry.
(Greven) Various processes such as goods receipt and dispatch, inventory and capacity management, or order picking can be monitored and flexibly controlled in real-time via the data cloud using an internet-connected device. With this new development, the software house, known for its Transport Management System (TMS) WinSped, aims to offer its customers comprehensive solutions from a single source. The warehouse management software is available as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), either fully integrated into the WinSped package or as a standalone system. Suitable interfaces and converters enable easy connection and integration into external IT landscapes.
Adaptation to Fast-Paced Delivery Markets
“Anyone who wants to remain competitive in modern order processing must adapt to the fast-paced delivery markets. With our new cloud-based LIS Warehouse Management, various logistics functions can be digitally mapped and optimized within a few weeks,” says Philipp Neuser, Head of WMS at LIS Logistische Informationssysteme AG. The LIS new development serves as a solution, especially in e-commerce fulfillment and for third-party providers with multiple customers and a high degree of customization in warehouse management.
User Data in LIS-Owned Data Centers
From space management and warehouse topology to the booking of loading aids and value-added services, as well as distribution to further transport, the LWM covers all relevant warehouse processes. Users can easily define their suitable material flow and workflow thanks to low-code technology – without any programming knowledge. “This allows the system to be implemented in no time and adjusted repeatedly. In the long run, this is a real cost advantage,” says Neuser. Furthermore, the LWM is regularly maintained and technologically developed. With cloud access, all user data is stored in LIS-owned data centers. This way, the tool can not only be operated time- and location-independently via a simple internet connection but also saves additional costs for data backup.
Presentation at LogiMAT
A REST API and a converter ensure easy connection and integration of the LWM into any IT landscape. Scanners or external systems such as ERP or TMS can also be connected to the new warehouse management software. “Thanks to the easy integration, warehouse management is seamlessly incorporated into the upstream and downstream supply chain. Additionally, each individual process step within the warehouse management can be flexibly substituted by external systems,” explains Neuser.
The LIS Warehouse Management will be presented for the first time at the LIS AG in-house exhibition T-Matik on May 11, 2022, at the Greven Ballenlager and at LogiMAT from May 31 to June 2 in Stuttgart.
