Mar 6, 2021 at 6:35 PMThe Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) e. V. is establishing a two-phase model for the German Logistics Congress 2021 due to the pandemic situation. On one hand, BVL is planning a digital event and, at the same time, an in-person event. The event is under the motto ‘Seize Opportunities – Adapt to Lead’ and will take place (in whatever form) from October 20 to 22, 2021.
(Bremen) The year 2021 is gaining momentum, even though the country is still in lockdown. Despite all uncertainties, it is now important to create planning security. Therefore, the Federal Association of Logistics is relying on a two-phase model for the German Logistics Congress in the second year of Corona, leading up to the event date from October 20 to 22, 2021.
In the first phase, BVL plans to hold it as a safe and high-profile digital event. After the positive experiences with the two-day Automotive Logistics Forum in February, as well as many smaller formats, the organizer feels well-prepared to offer participants a varied program and to provide partners in the areas of exhibition and sponsorship with attractive opportunities for online presentation of their services and solutions.
Decision for In-Person Event to be Made in June
At the same time, preparations are underway for an in-person component of the congress. The decision regarding the concrete implementation of an analog networking event is expected to be made in early June, thus signaling the start of Phase Two. Should the further development regarding infection rates, vaccination situation, and government regulations make a safe in-person format with personal encounters feasible, BVL will implement exactly that. They will switch to a hybrid event format, predominantly present content online, and create safe spaces for personal encounters.
“We are convinced that we can implement a live event even within a short time frame – and provide the logistics community with one of the first platforms for unmediated networking, exchanging ideas, and reconnecting,” says Christoph Meyer, the project manager of the congress at BVL. If an opportunity arises, BVL wants to seize it with added value for all participants.
