No more searching, automated compilation of orders that are not yet ready for transport. An automatic reminder is sent via email. An online portal shows clients the current order status.
(Nuremberg) The freight software cs connect from cargo support now offers a web-based order data management system that significantly simplifies the work of dispatchers: The new feature supports carriers and shippers in obtaining the necessary information prior to transportation. Missing data is clearly visible at a glance and comes into focus without searching. The new feature was primarily developed for container logistics but is also suitable for other modes of transport with extensive order data that may not be available from the outset.
With the order data management, all orders that are not yet transport-ready due to missing data can be listed. Long search times or the creation of separate lists are eliminated. Additionally, a “countdown function” shows the remaining time until the planned start of the tour. Once the missing data has been entered, the order is marked in green. At the same time, the recorded information is supplemented with a timestamp and the name of the user, ensuring that the entire history of the orders remains traceable.
The Basis is a Decision Matrix
The basis of the solution is a decision matrix that defines the data requirements depending on the mode of transport, client, and other characteristics, such as customs type or waste. Based on this matrix, the software automatically recognizes which data fields need to be filled for each order.
The current status of the orders can be retrieved by the carrier and the client at any time in an online portal. All pending orders are displayed in a clear format. Missing data can be entered directly in the online portal. Furthermore, the solution automatically reminds the client via email of incorrect or incomplete fields. The rhythm of the reminders is based on the remaining time for information gathering.
The new feature was developed for container logistics. For the takeover of a container at the terminal, transport companies and drivers require complete and error-free order data, such as the release, customs, or container number, as well as the desired return depot. In international sea transport, some of this information is not known at the time the order is placed with the receiving freight forwarder. This information must be painstakingly collected and completed before the container is placed, which usually happens only during sea transport.
All Transport Processes Covered
Requesting data from the client and monitoring this process consumes a lot of personnel and time for freight forwarders and shippers. Additionally, the transmission of data via phone, email, or fax often leads to media breaks and transposition errors. However, the driver cannot take over the container with incomplete or erroneous data, especially as terminal operators increasingly digitize and automate their processes. Data errors invariably lead to delays and additional costs.
With cs connect, all transport processes can be covered. The centerpiece is cs job, the central management and order management system from quotation to invoicing. cs job is complemented by the dispatch solution cs plan for automated, dynamic, and proactive transport planning. Additional applications include the route planning module cs map and the cross-departmental communication center cs com.
