Apr 13, 2026 at 10:42 AMA current analysis by Transporeon on trends in the supply chain and logistics for the DACH region highlights three central themes that are expected to gain importance by 2026. The study shows that companies face challenges when it comes to implementing new technologies and strategies, as reported by Transporeon.
Artificial intelligence as a strategic tool
According to Transporeon, artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly evolving from a pilot project to an operational foundation within companies. The adoption rates of AI technologies have risen from 17 to 41 percent within a year. Nevertheless, many medium-sized companies struggle with acceptance, the necessary resources, and the practical implementation of these technologies. Executives are called upon to position AI as a strategic support tool to remain competitive.
Data quality as a crucial factor
Another aspect highlighted by the study is data quality, which is identified as a crucial asset for service levels. Transporeon emphasizes that only clean master data can ensure the performance of autonomous systems. Despite the availability of data, only 32 percent of the surveyed companies use it for AI-driven decisions. According to Transporeon, these decisions are necessary to achieve a new service level that includes predictive ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), proactive warning systems, and multimodal visibility.
Long-term collaboration
The study also emphasizes that long-term collaboration is becoming increasingly important compared to mere price optimization. The shortage of drivers is changing the power dynamics in the market, forcing companies to position themselves as „Shipper of Choice“ to secure capacities. According to Transporeon, this can be achieved through the consistent digitalization of interfaces to eliminate inefficiencies. Automated payment processes and reliable procedures are also crucial for success.
