Apr 13, 2026 at 7:15 AMThe US-based air freight IT service provider Pelicargo has onboarded Air Canada Cargo to its digital platform for air freight procurement and handling, providing users with access to real-time pricing and capacities across a broader range of transport routes.
The air freight industry often operates based on airport pairs, while forwarders typically work from origin to destination. Pelicargo specializes in addressing this reality. According to Sean Angata, co-founder of Pelicargo, the integration with Air Canada Cargo is a natural evolution of the existing partnership. „The industry is still built around airport pairs, but that’s not how forwarders operate. They think in terms of origin and destination,“ Angata explained.
The platform allows users to retrieve rates from an extensive network of airlines, including Air Canada Cargo, secure capacities, and handle shipments within a single system. This reduces reliance on manual coordination and accelerates the process of quoting and execution.
Enhanced coverage and flexibility
The integration of Air Canada Cargo strengthens Pelicargo’s coverage in North America as well as on transatlantic and other international routes. This offers forwarders more options for quoting and booking. Users of the platform can price shipments from any US origin postal code area to global destination airports and combine air freight handling with the first leg of transport. This is supported by a network of over 2,000 domestic forwarders providing coverage to key airport hubs.
By aligning pricing with the typical practices of forwarders—based on origin and destination—Pelicargo enables users to move more quickly from the initial quote to confirmed capacity between airports. The company plans to further expand its integrations with airlines as it grows its network.
This development coincides with the registration of over 500 forwarders on the Pelicargo platform, indicating increasing acceptance among forwarders.
