Apr 13, 2026 at 7:44 AMEuropean Loc Pool (ELP) has received approval for the use of its „EuroDual“ locomotives in the Balkans. This approval includes homologations in Croatia and Slovenia, following the authorization granted in Serbia in 2023. With this expansion of its fleet’s availability, ELP aims to strengthen cross-border rail freight transport in Southeast Europe, as the company reports.
Expansion of operational capabilities
The approval extends across various countries located along freight transport corridors between Northern and Central Europe and the Balkans. According to ELP, this region is becoming increasingly important for industry, logistics, and international trade. In particular, the corridor between the Adriatic region, which connects Koper via Ljubljana, Maribor, Rijeka, and Zagreb to the industrial centers of Central Europe, is developing into a strategic axis.
