Apr 9, 2026 at 12:30 PMVolvo Trucks has restructured its management team in Germany to support the sales organization more effectively. These changes affect key central positions and replace the previous role of Director Vehicle Sales with newly created functions.
Markus Weckesser (front row, center), who has been serving as Managing Director and Vice President of Volvo Trucks in Germany since October 1, 2025, took over the leadership on an interim basis in spring 2025. He emphasizes the importance of the restructuring to better align with the needs of customers and partners. “The restructuring is also an important step towards achieving our goals by 2030,” explains Weckesser.
New structure of the sales organization
The „New Vehicle Sales“ department will be divided into three new areas: Sales Operations, Own Retail Sales, and Private Dealer Sales. This division aims to enable more targeted management and support for both private dealers and own sales locations.
Jochen Stuhr (back row, far left) will be appointed as Director Private Dealer Sales effective May 1, 2026. In this role, he will oversee the care and support of private Volvo Trucks dealers in Germany. Stuhr brings extensive experience from various positions at Volvo Financial Services and Volvo Trucks.
Peter Prijak (back, 2nd from left), who has been serving as Director Own Retail Sales since December 1, 2025, leads the own retail sales business and is Managing Director of Volvo Group Trucks Vertriebs GmbH. He has held various sales positions at Volvo Trucks since 2010 and was most recently responsible for the New Vehicle Sales area on an interim basis.
Manuel Mengelkoch (back, 2nd from right) has also taken on the role of Director Sales Operations since December 1, 2025. He is responsible for the areas of product, homologation, pricing, logistics, e-mobility, key account, commercial excellence, and used trucks. Mengelkoch has been part of the management team since 2022.
As of January 1, 2026, Dr. Ann-Christine Hamisch (front, 2nd from right) has joined the team as Director People & Culture. After her legal training, she worked in various positions at the Munich municipal utilities, including in personnel strategy and recruitment.
Oliver Borgmann (front, far right) has already taken over the position of Director Own Retail Service as of December 1, 2025, and is responsible for Volvo Trucks‘ own workshop locations in Germany. He brings many years of experience in the workshop business.
The remaining positions in the management team remain unchanged. These include Anne Elsäßer (front, far left) as Director Marketing & Communication, Gertjan Laan (front, 2nd from left) as CFO, and Susanne Unbehend-Fuhrmann (front, 2nd from right) as Executive Assistant, as well as Kai Göpfert (back, 3rd from left) as Director Service Market & Retail Development and Gregor Frieb (back, far right) for Business Development & Public Affairs.
