The appointment took effect on April 1, 2026. Vongpusanachai, who previously served as Managing Director for DHL Express Thailand and Indochina, will be based in Singapore.
Vongpusanachai brings over 20 years of leadership experience at DHL Express and has led several key markets in the region during this time. He began his career with the company in 2003 as Managing Director for Thailand and Indochina, took over leadership in Singapore in 2008, and was responsible for Hong Kong and Macau from 2016. Since returning to lead Thailand and Indochina in 2020, he has achieved continuous profitable growth and developed the cluster into one of the region’s key expansion drivers.
Ken Lee, CEO of DHL Express Asia-Pacific, commented on Vongpusanachai’s appointment: “Herbert has an exceptional track record of delivering strong business results and fostering engaged teams across various markets. His deep understanding of our customers, collaborative leadership style, and ability to identify opportunities in complex environments make him the ideal leader for our commercial agenda in Asia-Pacific.”
In his new role, Vongpusanachai will shape and accelerate DHL Express’s commercial strategy in the region. He will collaborate with other departments to assess new sectors, routes, and trade lanes with high growth potential. A focus will be on deepening customer engagement while driving sustainable volume growth and promoting the adoption of new technologies to enhance commercial execution in the markets. With his extensive country experience and people-oriented leadership style, Vongpusanachai is well-positioned to support both regional and national teams in enhancing commercial performance.
Vongpusanachai emphasized the importance of the region for global trade: “Asia-Pacific remains a crucial anchor in global trade, as evidenced by the latest DHL Global Connectedness Report. This highlights the relentless role of logistics in facilitating the flow of goods. With the newly introduced Heavyweight Express solution, which enables customers to ship heavy shipments quickly, reliably, and securely, I look forward to working with our talented teams to shape the next chapter of DHL Express’s commercial success.”
The current DHL Global Connectedness Report shows that the region remains a significant anchor of global trade, with several economies rising in the global connectivity rankings and Southeast Asia establishing itself as a rapidly growing trade corridor. These developments reflect one of DHL Group’s strategies to better support 20 markets worldwide and accelerate growth; eight of these are located in the Asia-Pacific region.
