GXO Logistics opens new location in Switzerland
Apr 7, 2026 at 8:39 AMDP World has established a new shipping connection between Japan and the Philippines aimed at optimizing the supply chain for the Japanese home builder Ichijo Komuten Co., Ltd. The „JP8 service“ from CMA CGM, which launched on March 18, 2026, connects Sendai with the terminals in Manila and Batangas, facilitating the transport of prefabricated housing materials, as the company reports.
First regular connection in eight years
According to the company, the „JP8 service“ represents the first regular international shipping connection between Sendai and the Philippines in eight years. CMA CGM’s weekly service serves the ports of Manila South Harbour and Batangas Integrated Port, both operated by Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI), a partner of DP World.
The new connection is expected to enhance the logistical capabilities for Ichijo, which produces prefabricated housing components. These materials are exported to Japan via House Research Development (HRD), a local manufacturer. Nihon Sangyo, a company within the Ichijo Komuten Group, is responsible for the procurement, logistics, and distribution of these components.
