Craiss Generation Logistik receives certifications
Apr 1, 2026 at 7:38 AMThe tugboat operator Arrendadora Continental has received an order from the Port Authority of Puerto Quetzal to operate an additional tugboat. With this new order, the total number of tugboats deployed at the port on the Pacific coast of Guatemala will increase to six. To fulfill this obligation, the company plans to take over a Damen „ASD Tug 2312“ later this year, according to the manufacturer.
Arrendadora Continental is considered by Damen to be the largest tugboat operator in Guatemala. Following the delivery of the new vessel, the company will operate a total of four tugboats in the country. This order follows the delivery of another ASD Tug 2312, named „Iztapa,“ which was handed over to the company in 2025.
Long-term partnership with Damen
The two tugboats are the first that Damen Shipyards Group has delivered to the country in twenty years. Previously, the shipyard delivered a „Stan Tug 2207“ to the company. This vessel, named „Hercules,“ was delivered in 2000. According to Damen, it was still in operation in 2025. In parallel with the arrival of „Iztapa,“ Damen Trading has assisted Arrendadora Continental in finding a new owner for „Hercules.“
