Bahamas reforms maritime regulation
Mar 30, 2026 at 8:41 AMTransworld, a logistics provider based in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone, has established a dedicated air freight charter on the Sharjah–Mumbai–Sharjah route to maintain the supply of food and other essential goods between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This measure comes in response to disruptions in regional transport corridors caused by ongoing instabilities.
The first charter flight was successfully conducted on March 24, 2026, ensuring timely delivery of food shipments. Transworld plans to conduct another charter flight on April 2 to secure the continuous transport of goods. The initiative aims to address operational risks in the Gulf transport corridors, where both maritime and air traffic networks are affected by disruptions.
Capacity Expansion
In addition to air freight charters, Transworld has also increased maritime capacities to support cargo movements in the India–UAE corridor. This combination of air and sea solutions is intended to help minimize risks and secure the flow of critical goods under the currently volatile conditions. The measures are part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening supply chain resilience and maintaining trade between the two markets.
Transworld is responding to the challenges posed by uncertainties in the region with these steps. Providing reliable and time-sensitive transport solutions for essential goods is crucial to meet the needs of the markets in India and the UAE.
