Cross-departmental air freight cooperation at DHL
Mar 30, 2026 at 1:24 PMEinride has announced that the company Coop, one of the leading cooperative grocery chains in Sweden, will be supported in its transition to fully electric deliveries. This initiative affects all Coop stores in the Uppland region, located north of Stockholm.
The transition is enabled by Einride’s intelligent mobility system for freight transport, which combines electric trucks and charging infrastructure with the company’s proprietary AI-driven planning and optimization platform, Saga AI. This platform utilizes operational and customer data to meet transport demand with fewer vehicles, reduce energy consumption, and lower overall transport costs.
Sustainable Transport Solutions for Coop
Roozbeh Charli, CEO of Einride, emphasizes the significance of this collaboration: “The transition of an entire region to electric deliveries demonstrates our ability to provide integrated hardware, software, and infrastructure that enhances fleet productivity.” The partnership between Einride and Coop illustrates how digitization and electrification can be rapidly scaled in regional transport networks. This could serve as a model for the distribution of food and consumer goods worldwide.
The transition includes the supply of 23 Coop stores in the Uppland region and encompasses more than 659,000 transport kilometers annually. By switching from diesel to electric deliveries, Coop and Einride expect to save approximately 912 tons of CO₂ emissions per year, equivalent to removing 596 cars from Swedish roads. This measure supports Coop’s commitment to sustainability and the overarching goals for fossil-free transport by 2030. The full implementation of the initiative is planned for the first half of 2026.
Peter Rosendahl, Head of Transport at Coop Sweden, comments on the goals of the partnership: “At Coop, we believe that every delivery can make a difference for our customers and the local community. By collaborating with Einride, we are taking a significant step towards reducing our CO₂ footprint and demonstrating that climate-friendly logistics can be compatible with reliable food deliveries.”
Founded ten years ago, the Swedish company has seen strong commercial development in recent years and serves over 30 corporate clients in seven countries. The company expects an annual recurring revenue of approximately $92 million from existing customer contracts and sees long-term potential of over $800 million through joint business plans with prominent clients. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Einride also announced plans for an IPO, which will be realized through a merger with Legato Merger Corp. III, a special purpose acquisition company. The completion of this transaction is expected in the first half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
