NAS Moves to Nairobi
Mar 27, 2026 at 3:49 PMA delegation from the Transport Committee of the European Parliament, led by Chair Elissavet Vozemberg, will travel to Poland next week to address issues related to multimodal transport hubs and military mobility.
The seven-member delegation of Members of the European Parliament will be in Poland from March 30 to April 1 to engage with national and local authorities. Topics will include transport policy, the development of multimodal transport hubs, the advancement of rail transport, military mobility, drone technologies, and the security of critical transport infrastructure.
Strategic Investment Program „Port Polska“
On the first day, March 30, the delegation will be in Warsaw to visit the „Port Polska“ program. This strategic investment program aims to create a modern transport system that integrates air, rail, and road transport. Following this, a meeting will take place with the Polish Minister of Infrastructure to discuss the development of Polish rail transport. Additionally, discussions with members of the Polish Sejm and other officials are planned to talk about military mobility.
On Tuesday, March 31, the delegation will travel to Łódź, the fourth-largest city in Poland and a future multimodal transport hub. There, they will meet with representatives of national and regional authorities to discuss ways to promote regional mobility and key transport priorities in the new multiannual EU budget for 2028 to 2034.
The final day, April 1, will bring the delegation back to Warsaw, where they will meet representatives of the Polish defense industry. The aim is to learn about modern European drone technologies used for surveillance, inspection, and threat detection in transport infrastructure. The delegation seeks to assess how these technologies can enhance the readiness of member states regarding external threats, support civil-military cooperation, and contribute to a safer and more resilient European transport network.
Ahead of the visit, Elissavet Vozemberg stated: „This mission to Poland offers a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand insight into how strategic investments in multimodal transport systems and military mobility strengthen Europe’s connectivity, resilience, and security. I look forward to discussing the development of modern transport hubs, the future of rail transport, and innovative solutions such as drone technologies with national and regional partners. We expect this visit to deepen our understanding of the current challenges and opportunities on the ground and to help ensure that the European transport network remains efficient, sustainable, and capable of responding to evolving security needs—both in the civilian and defense sectors.“
Vozemberg will be accompanied by six other Members: Dariusz Jonski (EPP, PL), Borja Giménez Larraz (EPP, ES), François Kalfon (S&D, FR), Julien Leonardelli (PfE, FR), Tilly Metz (Greens, LU), and Arno Bausemer (ESN, DE).
